We will strive to meet both the needs of individual clients and patients, as well as to contribute to the well-being and improvement of our community.
Dr. Dennis Sherin, DVM – Practice Owner, Large and Small
Dr. Sherin grew up in New York state and has always had a love of animals and of the outdoors. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from SUNY College at Brockport in 1977. In 1982 he obtained his masters Degree in Physical Therapy from University of Alabama Birmingham, where he met his wife Jane, also a physical therapist. In 1988, Dr. Sherin returned to college to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In 1992, he graduated from North Carolina State College of Veterinary medicine. He has been practicing veterinary medicine for 26 years.
Marlene Shelton – Office Manager
Marlene was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, moving to Chestertown in 1978. She now lives in Dover with her husband . Marlene has worked with Chestertown Animal Hospital since 1986 as a receptionist and is now the manager of our front office. She has one son, Adrian and 12 grand-dachshunds along with her own dog Spanky! Marlene enjoys hiking with her dog, Zumba and gardening and hopes to one day retire and spend more quality time with family and friends.
Robert Holt – Receptionist
Robert was born and raised in Chestertown and has been with 0ur hospital since August 2017. He graduated from Queen Annes County High School and started classes at Chesapeake College in liberal arts before joining our staff. Robert enjoys exotic pets and has 2 corn snakes, Rorschach and Kami. His hobbies include drawing and enjoying new books. His goal is to eventually work in animal rehabilitation or a sanctuary environment, to continue furthering his love of animals!
